aussiehome.com has formed a strategic alliance with one of Australia's leading
mapping companies, National Geographic Information Systems (NGIS).
Perth based aussiehome.com is the world's first interactive map-based neighbourhood
guide. The website (www.aussiehome.com) provides digitally-created interactive
maps using Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The maps display all
the information required for consumers to make a home purchase or rental
decision.
NGIS Australia is an independent Geographic Information Systems consulting
and services firm, based in Perth, Western Australia with offices in Vietnam
and Hong Kong.
aussiehome.com director Charlie Gunningham says the alliance with NGIS helps
strengthen the partnership between two-leading edge technology companies.
"This is a great example of two Perth-based companies taking new technology
to a world-wide audience," Mr Gunningham said.
"NGIS are the smartest and the best interactive map-makers in the world
and have been able to develop their skills in the highly competitive resources
industry."
"What we're doing is taking this technology and applying it to the Internet
to help consumers find their dream home," he said.
aussiehome.com provides the locations of everything useful to potential
homebuyers including schools, hospitals and sports centres.
"We're the first company in the world to put Geographic Information Systems
map technology on the Internet in an interactive way. More importantly we
are in control of the systems and content, in particular the maps provide
a point of difference for consumers searching websites for properties,"
Fellow Director Nick Streuli said.
Since aussiehome.com was launched in December last year more than 35 Perth
real estate agencies have signed up providing information on 700 properties.
The website is also receiving 10,000 site requests per day.
"We're delighted with the response and feedback in our first three months
and are on track to achieve our goal of completing Perth and then expanding
interstate," Streuli said.
