aussiehome.com: Singapore Capital Raising

Perth-based Internet business aussiehome.com has been selected as one of 3 Western Australian companies to take part in a capital raising conference in Singapore. They will join a select group of 23 Australian and New Zealand companies who have the opportunity to present to 56 investor entities from Asia, Europe and the US that have been invited to attend the Corporation Builders' Annual South East Asian Investment Series 2000 conference.

Charlie Gunningham, Nick Streuli
"This is a huge opportunity for us and it’s great just to be selected," said aussiehome.com Director, Charlie Gunningham. Aussiehome.com was founded and launched in December last year is now Western Australia’s most visited real estate site. It has more than 2400 properties listed and is the first real estate site on the Internet to use interactive mapping technology. "We have a long-term goal to expand into Asia so selection to be part of this venture capital raising initiative will help us achieve that objective," Mr Gunningham said. The conference targets IT and services companies with Asian ambitions. The aussiehome.com site was recently featured throughout the region on TV business network CNBCAsia.

"We believe an interactive map-based real estate site is ideal for Asian markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong and China because it is so difficult to travel around looking at real estate in these cities. Our site will enable potential customers to research the market and visit potential properties from the comfort of their lounge room" Mr Gunningham said.

Since its launch, aussiehome.com is averaging 400 unique visitors per day and recently won the Yellow Pages Asia Pacific IT & T Award 2000 for E-Commerce. The Nedlands-based company employs 8 people and it's revenues have been rising at 30 to 50 per cent per month. "This capital raising opportunity - if successful - will allow us to grow into Asian markets as well as interstate, and we see Perth as the ideal base from which to make this expansion," Mr Gunningham said.
